Amsterdam-Limassol Cooperation on smart cities


Round Table Discussion - 26th May 2017, Limassol



The event was organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands on the 26th May 2017 in Limassol, and marks the beginning of an enhanced cooperation between Netherlands and Cyprus in the area of smart cities.


Ambassador Nathalie Jaarsma was leading this initiative, and Dr. Manon Jutte and Mr. Adri Wischman from Amsterdam have initiated the discussion in specific topics.


The participants (see list below) contributed in the discussion and expressed the views of local authorities, academia and the private sector on the subject.


A plan is underway to continue and enhance this cooperation.

I would like to congratulate you again for your excellent work in organising the first SmartBlueCity conference.
Below, some comments about possible future improvements:


- As the conference growths it would be useful to organise parallel sessions under some basic themes instead of just one main session (plenary) with all the presentations. This would allow the attendees to be directed towards topics of their interest.


- It would be useful to organise the peer-review process of the papers prior to the conference, and to provide a copy of all the finalised papers during the conference.
